Late Harvest Riesling

$39.90

The grapes were handpicked in the early hours of the morning January 16th, 2024. Whole bunches were then pressed in a traditional basket press at temperatures around -10c The juice was settled, racked off its heavy lees and the wine was fermented slowly at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation was stopped at the desired sugar/acid balance. It can be a cliché to say that a wine ‘bursts from the glass’, but in this case it is accurate! High intensity of aromas like dried apricot,
peach preserve, pineapple candy, and crushed chalk dominate the nose. Supremely well balanced, the palate is luscious but not overwhelming, with flavours of spiced apple, banana cream pie,
and grilled peach. Tasting this now, it was definitely worth getting up at 4AM on a -10°C January morning to pick these grapes by hand!
