Wine Access June/July 2007 -Buyer's Guide
90 Points- Hidden Bench 2005 Estate Chardonnay, Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula....The least expensive of three chardonnays from Hidden Bench combines fruit from Rosomel and Locust Lane sights. It's quite full bodied, powerful with a rich, complex nose of yellow apple/pear fruit, vanilla nut fudge, peat smoke and a touch of intriguing ever green. Meduim-full bodied, creamy yet dry and a touch hot on the finish; nicely structured and complete, with excellent length. Now to 2010 (DL)
Wine Access - June/ July Riffing on Riesling
91 Points - 2005 Hidden Bench Estate Riesling, Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula.....A terriffic new riesling joins Niagara's top echelon: bold, dry, elegant and very much like a calssic from the best villages of Germany's Pfalz region. Look for a ripe nose of pineapple, honey, lemon blossom and slate-y minerality. Mid-weight, elegant and racy on the palate (DL)
