Felseck Vineyard

Felseck Vineyard

The name Felseck means  “corner of the cliff” and, as this vineyard  is situated where the Niagara Escarpment takes a dramatic turn  from an East / West direction to a North / South direction, we chose to name this newest Hidden Bench vineyard, Felseck. In addition, our vigneron / proprietor's family former country home in Germany and family farm in Quebec also carry the Felseck name. This vineyard consisting of approximately 45 acres was originally planted in 1992 and was acquired by Hidden Bench in the Spring of 2007. Our plan is to carry on farming approximately 14.5 acres of this vineyard with its current plantings and to replant the balance of the vineyard in high-density spacing (1metre by 1.5 metres)  in 2008 with a primary focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. We are very excited about the potential of this site as it has tremendous Bench soil and a significant East/West and North /South slope which promotes air drainage and superior solar exposure.
